Driving Lessons for TeensA critical component of learning to be a good driver is plenty of hands-on experience. Knowing the laws and understanding the rationale behind them is very important, but we believe that the key to learning is doing. That is why our behind the wheel training for teens program is set up so your new driver can practice driving with the support of an experienced professional. Your teen will have the opportunity to drive the car on their own; you will have the comfort of knowing that our instructors have a second set of controls if they need to take over control of the vehicle for any reason.
Our behind the wheel training for teens program includes opportunities for your teen driver to practice driving in numerous situations and locations that they will need to master in order to be an independent and safe driver. Our instructors will have your teen practice driving on residential streets, faster neighborhood roads, as well as the highway. During the in-car sessions, your new driver will show their understanding of the laws and their ability to correctly control the vehicle. Students will receive instruction and practice with making three-point turns, parking in a parking space between two cars, parallel parking, and backing up. Our instructors will also go over appropriate procedures for following driving laws at traffic lights, stop signs, yield signs, when turning across traffic, and more. We will schedule at least one of our in-car sessions to take place after dark so that your new driver will gain essential experience with night driving. During the in-car sessions, our instructors will take plenty of time to make sure that your teen is comfortable using all the features of the car from the turn signals to adjusting the mirrors. Your teen will have ample opportunities to ask questions during their in-car, so as you practice driving with your teen, help them compile a list of questions that they may need additional explanations or examples for. While in the car, our instructors will also periodically quiz your teen on various driving laws, car features, and necessary protocols to follow before driving or making a turn, etc. These will be other opportunities for your teen to ask questions if they realize there is a law or procedure that they do not completely understand. Our goal is that upon completion of the in-car training sessions, your teen is confident and prepared to drive on their own. Additionally, we want you to be confident in your teen's ability to drive. We value your opinions about our program and know that you know your new driver better than anyone else. If you have any concerns or if there are any specific skills you feel your student driver needs additional support with, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's instructor. They can accommodate your concerns and the needs you see into their lessons. We love working with parents to help create safe and proficient drivers! |
